SANUR
Located in the southern part of Bali, Sanur is famed for its beautiful strip
of pure sandy beaches across the coastal line. It is also famed for its'
spectacular sunrises which literally marks a new day in the life of the
Balinese. A talented laid back atmosphere is what is unique about the
village of Sanur where hospitality is intertwined with the traditions of
Balinese culture and religion. The atmosphere from sunrise till sunset
provides endless opportunities of discovery into the daily lives of the
Balinese, where each corner of the village provides a certain exploration
for every visitor. Lines of shaded trees along the roads, a stretch of beach

THE SANTRIAN
According to the Balinese tradition, santrian is a special place used for yoga, mediation, and contemplation.
In Sanur, tucked away close to the beach, there is a small ancient temple where in days of old people, led by the royal brahmana families, came to meditate and seek enlightenment.
With the advent of tourism, these families continued to provide leadership and guidance to the village of Sanur. Their vibrant presence has helped Sanur maintain its tranquil village feel. In 1970, Ida Bagus Tjethana Putra, the head of one of Sanur's leading families, established a charming hotel now known as the Griya Santrian. There later followed the Puri Santrian and, most recently, The Royal Santrian in Tanjung Benoa.
Today, Ida Bagus Tjetana Putra and his four sons, together with their team of professional managers, remain committed to the culture of Bali, offering each guest at the Santrian
